Kids Meet A Refugee | Kids Meet | HiHo Kids

Kids, refugees, questions: 'What is it like to have no home?'

British children and child refugees ask and answer questions about the refugee crisis. The Guardian and Observer charity appeal 2016 is supporting the work of three charities working with refugee children. This year more than 90,000 children have travelled alone, fleeing war and destitution, across Europe. Thousands are sleeping in makeshift camps in Europe this winter.

Refugee Life: Through a Child's Eyes

Little Hamze was uprooted from his home in Mosul, Iraq when ISIS swept through the area in 2014. Now, he and his father have made it to Idomeni, Greece where they await safe passage to Germany and hope to be able to send for Hamze's mother and sister.

Am Not a Number: A Refugee's Tale | Nujeen Mustafa | TEDxExeter

Millions of refugees have fled conflict and persecution around the world. Nujeen Mustafa asks us not to see them as numbers, but human beings. In a moving and humorous talk, she tells of her own epic and dangerous journey from Syria to Europe in a wheelchair, concluding that refugees need compassion as much as shelter. Nujeen Mustafa is a young refugee from Aleppo, Syria. She has cerebral palsy and cannot walk but this did not stop her braving inconceivable odds to travel in her wheelchair from Syria in search of a new life. “She is our hero. Everyone must read her story. She will inspire you.” Malala Yousafzai.
