ALMEIDA GARRETT
Portuguese writer and playwright, Almeida Garrett is one of the main promoters of the Portuguese theater and a prominent figure not only as a man of letters, but also as a cultural exponent, since he proposed the construction of the National Theater of D. Maria II and the creation of the Conservatory of Dramatic Art. Some characteristics that stand out are the freedom of metrification, the common vocabulary, the rhythm and punctuation characterized by subjectivity. Popular poetry and even the medieval songs are evoked, in addition to texts in which there is a predominance of subjectivity. Journalistic and dramatic components are also related, accentuated by a narration that incorporates, as occurs in the theater, several factors of oral language.
