A Beantime Story - "Two brave pixies"

Visit "Beantime stories" whose mission is, among others, 
to share the characters and stories of the island of Meddybemps.

'READING CONTEST' RESULTS

This year the 'Reading Contest' was held on 28th March to encourage the love of books
and boost children's literacy.  The contest, for the sixth graders, had its focus on the story:
Frogwarts and the Easter eggs by Jerry Jindrich.

 

The 'Reading Contest' team winner is (from left to right):
Beatriz Esteves, Sara Guimarães and Maria Silva.





The participants received Certificates and the winners received an adventure book in English and small tokens.
The teachers of English didn't forget that: "Children should always have a book on the go.
[...] The difference in achievement between children who read for half an hour a day in their spare time
and those who do not is huge" (Gibbs, 2012)

Easter Chocolate Eggs

On Easter Sunday, people give chocolate eggs as presents. These eggs started in Europe in the early ninettenth century and came to Britain in the 1870s. Today some of the eggs are empty, others have small chocolates inside; some are very small, some very big.

Easter Egg Hunt

Some parents tell their children that the Easter Rabbit hides the eggs in the garden. 
The chidren must go outside and look for them.
